Andrea Mottlová ( Vavrušová ) is a young Czech pianist with a stormy temperament and a devilishly impressive repertoir. She is a laureate of many competitions, chamber music player, teacher and presently she appears as a soloist. Apart from the traditional classical music she tends to contemporary music and cooperates with present composers.A graduate of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Andrea studied piano under Martin Kasík and František Malý, ulitmately perfoming the piano concerto “Totentanz” from Ferenc Liszt with AKS orchestra and conductor Marek Šedivý. Andrea was awarded the Dean's prize of Music Faculty in AMU for outstanding studies and exceptional representation of The Academy.
Andrea spent a year abroad studying at The Universitat für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien with Avedis Kouyoumdjian. Regularly she takes part in international piano Masterclasses with renouned artists such as Peter Donohoe, Lilya Zilberstein, Andrei Gavrilov, Jose Ramon Mendez, Robert McDonald and Julian Martin from Juilliard School of Music in New York.
The Graduation concert of Prague Conservatory with The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at the Rudolfinum, Dvořák’s Concert Hall in Prague was one of her proudest moments. She played the first piano concerto from Sergej Prokofjev with conductor Ondřej Kukal. During her studies in Prague Conservatory in the class of Emil Leichner and Michal Rezek she performed as soloist with Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Petr Vronský and The Olomouc Garrison Orchestra led by Gustav Foret.
Andrea has given hundreds of solo and chamber music concerts throughout the Czech Republic and abroad (Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Greece, Belorussia, Sweden ). She is absolute winner of the Competition of Czech Conservatoires, absolute winner of National Competition of Chamber Music in Vidnava, winner of competitions Yamaha and Prague Junior Note, laureate of Piano Competition B. Martinů in Prague.
Chamber music has been a part of Andrea’s musical life since her early childhood. She delights audiences performing with one of the finest French horn players in The Czech Republic Radek Baborák and his wife, violoncellist Hana Baboráková in The Jadin Trio. Andrea is one of the founders of The Páleníček Piano Trio, which is laureate of Chamber Music Competition B.Martinů in Prague and regularly participate with success in one of the biggest Scandinavian festivals Aurora Chamber Music in Sweden.
Occasionally Andrea collaborates with great musicians and ensembles such as Czech Brass, The Escualo Quintet and J.J. Big Band. She occasionally accompanies soloists such as opera singers in The Opera Worshop of Dagmar Livorová and Jaromír Brych in Slovakia . A diverse talent, her repertoir also includes children’s operas – Brundibár directed by Zdena and Václav Fleglovi.
Andrea also has screen experience acting in the movie “Don Juans” of Oscar winning director Jiří Menzel playing the the role of Blaženka, a happy=go=lucky pianist with a voracious appetite.
